Final update on the steer. My steer has officially been sold. It was taken to auction on Monday and was sold for around $1260. Subtracting fees I will end up with around $1,214.
Overall my costs this year have been very low. I paid $115 for my portion of winter feed and owe another $25 for protein supplement. Not counting my purchase of the initial cow that clears a little over $1,000. Not bad for my first year in the cattle business.
In other exciting news my other cow is pregnant and set to give birth around late July. Hopefully we have another uneventful season.
While it doesn't come across in the picture my uncle described her as "huge" with 6-8 weeks to go.
My journey to cattle baron is well on its way.
